What are you doing to make it through this economy?

So, Monday was a big loser for Wall Street - the highest single point drop in one day in history. This comes after hearing from our president that the economy is in big trouble… the word “depression” is being tossed around, and people are getting more and more fearful of the future.
But for some of us, it’s not a matter of being fearful of an unknown future - for some of us, it’s already a big struggle. We’ve all heard news that the job market is just as frozen here in the Sarasota/Bradenton area as the ice cold housing market. Layoffs, pay cuts, hiring freezes - yikes!
I don’t pretend to have any easy answers. What I’d like to hear is what you are doing to make it through all of this.
If you were recently jobless and recovered, how did you do it? If you are facing really desperate financial circumstances, how are you and your family getting by? If someone has offered you words of encouragement that really made a difference, what were they?
Leave a response below, and pass your wisdom on to us all!
